Disease Overview:Growth of multiple painful lipomas
Signs and Symptoms:Lipomas on the trunk, upper arms and upper legs are often just below the skin, but can also be found coupled to muscle, tendons, ligaments, or bones, leading to severe pain (more info)
Diagnosis:Excision of lesions to confirm lipomas, and distribution of lesions
Treatment:Supportive, with liposuction showing some symptomatic relief
Clinical Management:Pain management
Referral:Pain management. Referral to Medical Genetics Department, if available. Initial virtual care is also available through organizations like TeleRare Health.
